'99 sport 4wd auto--no reverse...

searched archives to no avail. there was no 'bang' or clunk--didn't feel like i hit something [as others have said]. no leaks, no burning smell--vehicle was fine yesterday, but today, no reverse. all fwd gears ok, reverse lights come on, but no reverse. about 120g miles, no other major probs. any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

possibly could be the transfer case. have you noticed any loud noises coming from what seems like the transmission when you let off the gas? if so search "transfer case buzz"
same thing happend to me, i had the loud sound for about 2 weeks then as i got to work, put it in reverse to park and nothing, jsut a loud grinding sonud. a few days later my park didnt work either, but the transfer case fixed it all. i payed aroudn 2200 for to be replaced, however i think i got ripped off, other people said they paid 1500
