I recently bought a 94 EB 4X4 and noticed that it seemed a bit sluggish on the bottom end but after reading about the 4.0 V6 I figured it was just the engine.
Tonight I figured out that the transmission starts out in 2nd gear always. If I manually shift into 1st gear and then upshift it goes into second gear regardless of the rpm. From what I found by searching it looks like the governor controls the 1st and 2nd gear changes but the problems I read about were being stuck in 1st, not starting out in 2nd.
This can't be good for mileage and it hurts acceleration also, any ideas on where I should be looking?
