I am working on my brothers 2004 Mountaineer AWD. He lost a timing chain guide on the 4.6L, and I replaced the timing sets, driver head, and all the power steering stuff since it was easy to take care of then. I also replaced both front CV axles, and the filters. The last two things that are driving my crazy are the TPMS system and the ABS system.
The ABS gets a C1235/C1236 code, even though it only has the center sensor in the back. I replaced the sensor, but the codes still come back in about 100ft of driving. Thoughts?
On the TPMS problem, I have taken it in and the tire shop could not get the TPMS to respond. I have also tried to turn ignition on/off three times, hit brake, and three more cycles, but the horn never sounds, and the Tire Pressure Monitor Fault still shows up in the message center. Thoughts?
