Hello all, first of all thanks for taking the time to read my post. I have a 2000 mountaineer, awd v8. It's stock minus audio/video work. I've done all the work myself I've been a certified installer for 5 years. The other day i got in my truck and the airbag light came on. It doesn't do any sequence of flashing it just stays solid.

I've checked every easy thing there was that i could think of, I've checked the connectors under the front seats, can't find the airbag module, I'm sure it's in the center console but i haven't checked yet. Any suggestions on this situation?

Is the airbag module expensive? Where is it? Thanks in advance.

When you first trun the key on, it doesn't give a LFC ( Light Flash Code )?

Is the light illuminated with the key off?

Good questions Al. It should be flashing when the key is first turned on.

The module is behind the right kick panel. But see if you can do some diagnosis before you start throwing expensive parts at it. And if you aren't familiar with, or have the proper simulators and test tools needed, I would strongly recommend you take it to a shop that does. Those things hurt when they go off...and can break your neck. Not to mention, expensive to replace.
