Where is the front drivers side airbag sensor located and how do I access it? 2002 Explorer Limited.

If it's anything like 2nd gens (Monmix jump in!) it's a litle towards the center behind the headlight.

If you have a similar plastic cover that sits on the header panel & has the headlight "doors" (flip'em up to access bulbs - like on your sport) you should be able to see it once removed

Thanx for the reply, I think the 3rd Gens are different.

I think Ford moved up to the centeral sensor.
meaning there is a module in the center of the vehicle, usually under the center console, that has just one sensor for all frontal impacts.

I will have to check my book tomorrow to be able to say for sure though.

If I recall its right behind your grille, if you look under your truck you should see two items sticking out on either side of the center section of the grill.. Just smack them and see if it makes the air bags go off

I think third gen is diferent

 Didn't realize it was for your 3rd gen..

dang Mod doesnt take the time to read every post much less look and see what section it is posted in :)
