Hey all just wanted to put out something I learned the hard way. if your armrest looks like crap, which apparently is very common for old explorers, be it leather or vinyl, or cloth, don't waste your money on replacements from a junkyard, and definitely don't buy any "replacements" online. you will only get a cheap console that seat belts in. instead, call your local auto upholstery shop (google it) and have them re-cover it. it costs about 20-30 dollars, as opposed to 40 for a repair kit, and 60 for a fony replacement. Hope I made someone's life easier!

Or by a 1/2 yard of vinyl or leather from fabric shop & recover it yourself for $15 :) That's what I did.

I did that last year. Took it to a shop, paid $30 and it looks better than stock.
