Autolamp Rear View Mirror Problems

Has anyone had trouble with the Autolamp timer on the rear view mirror? Mine is really jittery/flickery. I mean it won't stay on the off position, or it will stay completely off, or it will stay completely on for 3 minutes. There is no actual timer about it. It seems like something is just loose inside the mirror or something. Was wondering if anyone knew.

Before mine completely stopped working, it worked fine, but the slider was extremely loose, I am betting since it seems to be some sort of voltage regulator, or resistive thing, that the connection may have gotten gummed up.

Try spraying some electrical contact cleaner in the slot, then moving the slider back and forth a bunch of times. This worked for me when mine started to get erratic.
