body part question

So, while changing the plugs and wires, the hood slammed on my...... lets say beverage can.. and shattered the plastic piece that spans the top of the front of the engine compartment.. that surrounds the hood latch.. I cant find a description of it, or where to buy one. Any ideas? Do you know what that part is called, or do you have one youd like to sell?

Your best bet is to find one at a junk yard. I don't think this part is avalable aftermarket

yes, thats what i was thinking too. I was hoping someone would know the name of the part so i could search salvage lines on line. Do you?

I would call it the hood sill. I bought one at the JY
for a few bucks.

I THINK IT MIGHT BE CALLED THE FRONT VALENCE[NOT SURE]. IT'S PLASTIC WITH 4, 8mm BOLTS ACROSS THE TOP AND A COUPLE OF PUSHPINS TO HOLD IT IN PLACE. YOU MIGHT SEE IF ANYONES PARTING OUT A EXPLORER TO GET ONE.
