Brake lights don't work.

Hi I am new to the group so hello to everybody. Now my question I just bought a 1991 explorer 4x4 the brake lights do not work I have checked the fuse boxes the lights bulbs themselves and put a new brake stop switch in,still no brake lights I am out of Ideas. Any thoughts would help

Are you getting 12 Volts too the brake light switch? When you step on the brakes, do you get 12V out of the switch?

A few of us has had our issues with new Switches. They seem to actuallly work if you leave the Nylon Bushings off of the Assembly. It gives the switch more movement.
 






Oh, one other thing to play with. The Directionals are related to the Brakelights.
Step on the Brakes and move the Directional Stalk up and down and see if your Brakes work.
 






I just got a 94 explorer and I am having the same problem! I will check to see if I am getting current to the switch too....
