Car turns over but won't start!

So yesterday my 1995 Explorer would turn over but wouldnt fire up. At first i didnt hear my fuel pump as i turned the car on and listened. Now today i checked the fuses and they were good, i took the fuel pump relay fuse out and put it back in (someone told me that would work). Now the fuel pump will come on when it wants to, sometimes it will take about 5-10 secs after i have turned the key over and the car starts. Can someone please help me please !!

I have a 96 but I they should be about the same.

Did you change the fuel pump relay?? It is the fuse box located in the engine compartment next to the brake master cylinder. It is the top left relay located just below a row of four fuses (10a 30a 15a 30a).

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread to the stock 95-01 section. Replace the fuel pump relay, and see if this problem goes away. This relay isn't made to last forever.

When you turn the key to the ON position, you should hear the fuel pump prime for a second or 2. If not, check the fuel pump relay and the inertia switch.
