Center Console Cup Holder/Storage Bin

Lately I've really been getting sick of my 96's shallow, large cup holders. Every time I go around a corner, if I have a water bottle in one of them, it falls out and hits the floor. I would really like to swap it for a console from a first-gen Sport Trac because I like the big storage bin it has (as opposed to my little 2-compartment cubby thing). Would this be plug-and-play? Or should I just get a cupholder assembly from a later year second gen explorer?

It's not plug-n-play. The clips that hold it to the console are different. See the photos in THIS thread for the differences.
