My 88 ranger has 3 clutch switches:
(at clutch)
Top=clutch engage switch-wires are black\white white\black
Middle=don't know name-wires are green\red green\red
Bottom=clutch interlock switch-wires are red\lt blue red\lt blue

I think the bottom one is to keep you from starting unless the clutch
is depressed.(safety)
Do not have a clue what the other 2 switches are for.
Any help on this??

Thanks,
ronxae

The color codes are different for different years. You could unplug it and use a multimeter or test light to figure out which is which on your Ranger. As an example, the 89 schematic shows these:

Cruise control cancel:
light green to light green
closed when clutch pedal is released, open when slightly depressed.

PCM clutch sense (tells engine computer clutch pedal position):
black/white to white/black
open when clutch pedal is released, closed when depressed.

Starter interlock:
pink to pink
open when clutch pedal is released, closed when fully depressed.
