coolant hose collapse

I've tried searching but came up blanK.

I've notice that my coolant hoses were collapsed (engine cold) and the resevoir a little low, maybe a quart.

No visible leaks...any suggestions?

I checked the oil and it looks and smells normal.

How old are the hoses, they can look great but deteriorate from the inside out
A blockage in the rad can also cause the problem
