- 2004 Explorer Ed. Bauer
Hi,
Helped a friend diag a bad alternator in a 2004 Explorer w the 4.0.
Orig battery was replaced prior to my involvement.
As I am new to Fords (2014 Escape SE), I know the newer smart charging systems require a reset to zero out the age and stored perfornance data when a new battery is installed, andd that it can be done w a dealer tool or FORscan.
Question: Does the 2004 Explorer require a similar software reset upon battery replacement, or just the battery relearn procedure I found on the forum?
Thanks
PS: I never cross post the same question on forums but I have received no replies as to yay/nay in the stock 2002-2005 section. So I am posting my final question here as you folks seem to be significantly more technically oriented.
Thanks
Derf
