door lock problem

93 explorer. my doors decided to lock and unlock themselves nonstop one day when i shut my truck off. i checked the fuses and their fine. when i remove the switch it stops the door locks, but as soon as i put the switch back in the doors start to lock and unlock themselves. i tried a new switch, and the same problem happens. any suggestions?

Do the XLT's have keyless entry? If so, I'd probably start there. But, that's going to be tough to do unless you have good specific wiring diagrams. Aftermarket remote starter? It's not going to be a simple short or anything like that because it takes some intelligence to switch the polarity to the lock motor.

Maybe it's something goofy like your keyless entry needs to be reset. I might suggest unhooking the battery for a while and see if that resets whatever gremlin this is.
