Y'all, here's my story: wife had a '96 Sport she bought new in college. 4.0 OHV, 2-door, 160k miles, rusted out rocker panels, runs well. Was planning to donate the truck to get it out of my driveway. 6-year-old son suggests we make it a hot rod...

Mom hits a deer, so I rebuilt it. Cranked the TT, 3-inch body lift, helper springs, 4:10 gears. Found a set of 33-12.50 on CL. Now the truck looks respectable. But, I need more...

I aspire to do the following:
- Remove the doors for the summer
- Build and install a roll bar (full cage, think modern Jeep)
- Will tear down and rehab the engine in the fall
- Replace the rocker panels
- Maybe, maybe cut the top behind the rear side windows

Has anybody removed doors, installed a roll bar, or cut the top? If so, post photos or plans.

Oh yeah all of it has bin done, they have even bin made into trucks.

i like that roll cage. It somewhat looks subtle and not huge and obnoxious.
obviously safety is first with a roll cage but this one is safe and looks cool!
