You should always replace a clutch that has been contaminated with oil. Besides, you already have to remove the tranny to replace the slave, why do the job twice?
You are right it was brake fluid... The disc didn't look that bad but I had to buy the clutch disc set to get the release bearing so I went ahead and installed the disc.
This was my third slave in 4 years. It is hard to believe that no one can make a reasonably reliable slave. I went with LUK slave and clutch set. I hear they are the best.
As for the install, other than the dang exhaust flange bolt everything went smoothly. I didn't even have a problem bleeding the clutch.
