I thought about it for a long time and then decided to cut the floor. Used a Fein oscillating tool with thin metal blade. Cut it out according to picture found on a website somewhere ( maybe this one), cut is a thin line so I used the cutout plate with a thin strip riveted oround it, a few rivnuts and screws and now I can get to the pump in two minutes flat! Prveviously had to leave the vehicle 800 miles from home over a Christmas holiday when I had to wait for a pump to be imported (I live in South Africa) Now I carry a spare pump and the replacement if need be will be no more difficult than changing a tire! So, cut it - Ford should have done it from the start - guess they were creating work for dealers!
