I parked my truck on an incline the other day, just for 30 sec. to pick something up off my driveway; and when I got back in and tried to shift into Drive, it would not budge. After playing with it for a few minutes, I was able to get out of park, not sure what I did.

Is this normal or could there be an underlying problem?

If you park on an incline and release the brake, the truck will roll slightly pinching the parking pin for lack of a more understandable term against the housing, which makes it hard to disengage. If you set the paking brake next time, and put your foot on the regular brake before disengaging the parking brake to leave next time, see if it's better. It's just a normal thing with automatic transmissions and their parking lockout mechanisms.

It's also a reason why I usually set my parking brake when I park on a healthy incline- more insurance that something doesn't let go letting the car roll (which does happen) and it also makes it easier to disengage... :)
