Heater control valve

What's up X-Family? I have a problem with my vacum connected to the heater control,located where the two hoses run off the heater coil under the hood.When I disconnect the vacum, heat comes threw the vents but when it's reconnected the air is ice cold. I'm thinking when I replaced the heater control,I crossed the two hoses.

Well... the obvious test would be to reverse the hoses and see if it works properly.
