Hella installation???

I just bought a Hella 500 kit. The directions are VERY basic. i was wondering where should i go through the firewall to mount the switch on the interior? And where have you all mounted your switches?

also, i cant tell from the directions...but...do i need to ground the lights themselves, or are they grounded already by being mounted to the brushguard?

I used a coat hanger to push through the same hole in the firewall as the hood release cable goes through. Tape the wires to the hanger and pull them through.
The lights should be grounded also just the mounting is usually not enough.

i did the same thing as bill, as far as pushing the wire through the firewall, but yeah, you have to ground the lights. i just grounded mine right to the bolt that mounts them...well, before i sold em to alec

Then I grounded them to a neg battery lead that I already had run from another install.
