Hi, small problem

I own a 1995 Explorer XLT. I have replaced the engine in her. Before replacement the check engine light came on. I never reset the the computer and now the new engine is misfiring and power problems. Could the problem be new to this engine or left over from the old (ie: computer trying to fix the old problem on the new engine thus causing the performance problems)? Because the computer was disconnected from the battery during new installation I felt the computer reset.

Also Is this OBDII or OBDI compliant? How do I find out?

Welcome to this forum! You have an OBD-I (EEC-IV) system. Disconnecting the battery clears the previous codes. Do you know what those code numbers were?
