ignition switch problem

I had trouble with my keylock cylinder and the truck would not shut off.So I replaced the lock cylinder.However the truck will not shut off still.It starts no problem but when I turn the key off the truck is still running.Being a standard I can pop the clutch to kill the truck then disconnect the battery to kill the power.I'm hoping that replacing the ignition switch will fix the problem,is this correct? The truck is a 1995 ranger with a 4 cylinder.
