Hey! first just wanted to say hi and let everyone know i'm new here.

i recently started hearing a noise in my 03 xlt that sounded a lot like bad wheel bearings. the typical rumbling sound accompanied by increased rumbling when i turned the steering wheel. the only thing that i found funny was that it seemed both sides got bad at the same time.

so i had them replaced and the noise is still there. two wheel drive or four wheel drive, it doesn't matter. the noise is there and constant. any suggestions would be appreciated.

thank

Rear hub noise might be what you're hearing - it can be very deceptive. I thought I had the same problem and replaced the front hubs, and although the noise lessened a bit, it didn't go away until the rear hubs were replaced as well.

Be sure to eliminate the obvious such as tire noise. Have you tried rotating tires front-to-back to see if the noise moves?

Check the rotors, parking brakes and the dust shields.
