Greetings everyone. New member to the explorerfurom and have a question right of the gate. I have a 2003 Explorer XLT w/a leak. All the glass has been pressure tested and my next suspect is the luggage rack. This also includes the sunroof. The leak appears to be starting on the passenger side immediately in front of the 3rd row seat and runs down the inside pooling up in the front floorboard...mainly due to the position the SUV was parked; downward incline w/front of car at lowest point.
On a tailgating event about 3 months ago a strong wind pick up our tailgating tent and slammed it on top of the Explorer. I'm thinking the collision of the tent frame may have jarred the luggage rack breaking a seal and allowing water to get it.
Two questions:
1. Has anyone else had leaking problems w/their Explorer.
2. Simple 'idiot' steps for removing luggage rack, what to check for, and replacing any seals.
