liftgate applique retrofit

Has anyone tried retrofitting the black rear liftgate applique from the Explorer Sport (the rear "Explorer" badge) onto a regular Explorer? I wonder how difficult it would be to remove the stock chrome one.

Removing it is not hard. You just have to take the lift gate panel off from the inside and remove the bolts from there, if I remember correctly it's a bunch of 10mm. I removed mine so I could plastic-dip it.

Thank you! I didn't want to make any permanent changes in case I ended up wanting to trade it in or sell it. Plasti-dip was a great alternative. Took about 90% of the chrome and covered it up with it.
