When I put my x in Low Range and slowly creep around in first gear, I hear a loud thump similar to a piece of metal being bent then popping back out as I let off of the throttle rather quickly. I think it might be the radius arm bushings but it is hard to tell when your driving.

it could be but if you are pavement. it is the car telling you you shouldnt have it in low range. the cars differential cant differentiate in 4x4 on pavement and the car will hop until it can get to a situation that it likes....i hope this wasnt too confusing.

No, I was not on pavement. The road I was on was a gravel road and I noticed it when was on a downhill part of it. Since I was going rather slow, I gave it a little throttle then I had to back off it. When I backed off the throttle, the torque of the engine caused the car to slow quite fast, and that is when it made the noise. I am bewildered!

i think it is still normal. the car slowed at such a fast pace that some parts didnt have enough time to cqatch up
