My 1997 Ford Explorer

1997 Ford Explorer

Name: Tyler
Location: Sussex, WI
Vehicle: 1997 Ford Explorer XLT 4.0 SOHC
Mileage: 96,323 CURRENT: 101,x..

Shocks, brakes and rotors were just replaced a couple hundred miles ago and I also put a cone filter on it. Another fun fact is that the headlights were just replaced yesterday. The ones that were in there were the stock ones with a manufacture date of May 22 1997. :D I'll have to add some more recent photos once I get it cleaned up again.

Wow! How do you keep it so purty?! :D

Wow! How do you keep it so purty?! :D

I was waxing it once a week at one point last summer :D.

Like any 13 year old vehicle, it is showing it's age. There are little scratches all over and in some spots the paint is wearing off. However that is very minor and for 13 years old, the body is in great condition.

EDIT: This thing is begging for a 2 inch BL with some larger tires :)

Yea that paint is real nice for being 13 years old

nice x u got

Great looking rig!

Looks great!!

I have some plans for new headlights, taillights, and a new grill. I'm hoping I can do this sometime during the summer once I start working more.

Just added some pics of the cone air filter I recently installed. It's a little too big as it barely fits. I'm going to try and buy some new tubing that is a little shorter so the air filter fits better.

That does look nice all waxed up, I've waxed mine a couple times with nu-finish and really makes it look like new.

Added a video.

Probably in the next month or so, I'm going to be putting in new headlights with HIDs. Also I'm looking at painting the faded plastic black.

EDIT: Ordered new headlights with HIDs. I'm hoping to have this installed within the next week. Probably going to be doing the painting of the faded plastic this weekend.

I didn't get around to the painting yet, however I installed my new projector halos headlights with 6000k HIDs. I should have some yellow bulbs for fogs coming in tomorrow.

I'm going to have to aim these HIDs because I have a feeling they are a little off.

I was actually thinking about those same headlights for my 97x. After seeing yours in not sure how they may look on a red 2dr. They do look awesome on your black 4dr though.
