Need help!

Hi...I'm new to this forum..and glad to find it!

I've got a problem with the automatic door lock (won't unlock!) on my
1998 Ford Explorer. I need someone who can fix it.

Does anyone on the forum here know someone who can fix this without bushwhacking me money-wise?

Take it to a body shop. Lower hourly rates then a mechanic shop. At least it is in NJ and the shop I run.

Does it make a noise and wiggle when you try to unlock it? If it does then the actuator may have gone bad.

If it doesn't do anything, test the wire going to the actuator with a test light to see if it has power going to it. Also check the fuses too, to see if any of them are bad. We carry door loct actuators on our site for these trucks if you need one.
