New brakes. No good?

The anti rattle clips, at first i did not think that they would work cause a genius at advance auto told me they are for the outer pad. But then i saw the picture posted on this thread, so tonight when i changed out the brake lines i tried installing the clips in the way the picture had it jsut for kicks, but sure enough it worked.

Now i want to figure out if the 1st gens have the air silencer, i want to remove it if so, but i am not too sure what i am looking for. Any help there? No one has pictures on their threads, and no one will state weather or not 1st gens have them
