i just bought a 97 xlt AWD with 120k on it. there is one problem with it and it is that right before i make a complete stop the abs kicks on. just checking in and seeing if i could get some help.

It could be a bad sensor. Does your ABS light stay on?

no abs light, i just pulled the fuse for the time being and went away so its a abs issue

ABS Sensors

1997 Explorer 4x4 sport Having trouble with the ABS plusating at a slow stop. Complete brake job, new rear sensor. Still doing it. Truck was stored for 6 months, fine when put away.Ford wants $200 per sensor, is there a way to test them or any other thoughts.

hook a volt meter up the the sensor. i dont know the correct voltage, but a haynes or chiltones will tell you.
