For the ones that recomend Bilsteins (is not only one):
Did you read the first part of the post with "working for minimum wage"?
Bilsteins are nice but not a very price-effective buy at $70-75 a pop. KYB monotubes are the same quality and better priced, but still some $45 a piece.
The Monroe's and KYB "bottom rug" are still decent shocks at $20-30 a piece. Of course not "the best" but better than running with worn shocks because he cannot afford the recomended Bilsteins.
