- 2001 Merc Mountaineer
Hello,
I've been on this site before, but it's been a while and I can't seem to find my old user ID, so I'm starting over.
I just acquired a 2001 Merc Mountaineer, and within the first week noticed some funny drips under the front end. Come to find out both front shocks are leaking and "fading" fast. So, my question...this is my second Explorer, so to speak, and I've noticed both had a pretty "hard" ride...as I'm going to be replacing the shocks soon is there an aftermarket shock that adds any improvement to the ride quality? I'm not interested in spending money of a whole suspension package or anything like that, just a direct replacement for the factory shocks.
Thanks!
