No shift indicator light

I just bought a 2006 Explorer XLT. The shifter is mounted in the console between the seats. At night the shift positions don't light up so you can't tell what gear your in. Should there be a light to illuminate this area? If so how do I get at it to replace the bulb? Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, there is a light. If you read the sticky on the top of the page for stock 2006+ Explorers you will see how to get to the light. Also, if all else fails this might be a big help before posting questions. http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/posting
