Hello,

This is my first post here. Here is my problem.

My transmission was replaced by a low milage used transmission about 1 month ago. Three times during the last month while driving the AdvanceTrack "OFF" light came on. And I got an error on the dash that said "Check Transmission", and a blinking O/D light. I hit the reset button to erase the message. The O/D light goes away and the "Check Transmission" goes away but the advancetrak light stays on.

After doing a scan I recieved the error:
P0705 Transmission Range Sensor Circuit malfunction

The transmission appeared to act perfectly fine after this and gave me no problems.

I cleared the code, restarted the engine and it appeared about 2 weeks later. I cleared it again and it appeared 5 days later.

Could this be a Transmission Range Sensor alignment problem because of the new tranny. Or do I need a new sensor?

I have a 2005 Explorer 4x4 XLT.

Thank you for the help

What is the best way to check the sensor? Do I just use resistance, or is there a particular method?

Thanks
