I have been reading up on P0775 code and getting a lot of mixed ideas on a fix. So to start I have a 2005 Explorer XLT Sport 4x4. Transmission was overhauled almost one year ago witch included a new overdrive planetary, drum & band. Overheating caused the issue.
Now I was driving around 80mph and heard a noise from the transmission like it jumped out of gear. A minute or two later "Check Transmission" came up on the display and the "OD" light began to flash. I got off at the next exit and it had a delayed shift between 1st & 2nd. I was able to make it home with the continued delay in shifting. I did also hear a noise like fluid passing when the delay happens. I haven't drove it since but did pull code P0775. So my questions are.
1. Which transmission is in this truck? I can't remember and can't seem to find it.
2. Where should I start on troubleshooting?
3. Should I just pull the transmission and inspect or (I hope) any fixes I can do without removing it.
