Plastic boxes above spare tire.

Been a while since I was last here. Anyways, I had to use the spare tire and when I was putting it back under the vehicle I noticed a mess of rusted steel dangling down. Looking at it I noticed that it was the remains of a bracket that held two black plastic boxes up under the vehicle. they have an electrical connection and two tubes that run to/from them. It is apparent that they have been held in place entirely by the spare wheel. I will be making a new bracket to hold them in place but I am curious, what are these things?

Those are evap system purge cannisters. Be gentle with them.

Any way of using plastic zip ties?

That would certainly be more easy than a whole new bracket. would imagine if I could get long enough ties, it would be do-able
