I have a 2000 explorer v6 ohv 4x4. I have the auto 4x4 and wanna know if I take out the transfer case relay will this give me full time 2wd. I seen the brown wire mod but I don't wanna do it and I never use my 4x4. Thanks for any reply.

Well why don't you just clip the brown wire?

Taking out the relay is the same as doing the brown wire mod. The BWM kills power to the transfer case clutch and removing the relay does the same thing. However it's not a good idea to do either one long term. Doing this on a long term or permanent basis will result in destroying the clutches in the t-case and as a result the t-case. If the purpose is MPG's don't bother because all of the front drive train is still turning. The 2000 Explorer has a live front axle, so turning off the clutch doesn't do anything other than taking power away from the front drive axle.
