quick 4x4 question

my 4x4 quit working, 02 explorer with auto 4x4 4hi 4low. so i ordered module in the mean time i disconnected battery to reset computer to program a new key. hooked the battery back up and 4x4 button works again, is this a temporary thing or should i hook up new 4x4 module behind glove box.

Flip a coin. Such is the nature of electronics. Odds are it will fail again in the future. Question is: how long? So if you don't want it to fail in the middle of a 4X4 experience, replace it and gain some confidence.
