Rack and pinion replacement.

I just got my 2005 sport trac out of the shop, having the rack and pinion replaced. O'reillys had to order 6 different units to get the right one. finally got one that fits a 2003 sport trac. isnt that unusual?

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the 2001-2005 Sport Trac section. Were the threads on the hydraulic fittings different or was there some other difference?

the original had o rings that fit in with a cover clamp system...the replacement came with threaded nuts that screwed in.

O'reillys sucks. IMO.
