rear struts

I am in the midst of replacing the rear strut and spring and can't get the new ones into the lower control arm I bolted in the top and even though the bottom of the strut is above the cotrol arm I can not seem to push it back into place any suggestions

Are you unable to push the control arm up to the strut? Did you remove the knuckle-to-lower control arm bolt? If you did, perhaps when pushing up on the lower control arm, the knuckle isn't lining up with it's slot on the lower control arm. I just did this last night, and that's what I ran into. Make sure these line up, and the bolthole in the lower control arm for the strut will be close. Stick a screwdriver in the hole to help line it up, then shove the bolt in.
