I can't seem to get the 6-disc changer removed from the dash of my 2004 Eddie Bauer Explorer. the standard DIN tool won't remove it,and if I try to remove the trim from the center console, it feels like its going to break. Is there some kind of release under the dash?

Please help.

the tools need to be pushed in gently, and then kinda pushed out to the sides while trying to pull, it's just a matter of getting them locked in. I had to end up have a guy at autozone do it for me cause after 3 hours i couldn't get it out...Just keep trying and if all else fails go where u bought them and make them do it...and then walk away with your tail between you legs :(

the 3rd gens don't have the holes in the radios for the tools.

the trim does feel odd when removed. there are six points to pull, the 4 corners then right to the outside of the air vents. just be careful!!

eh nevermind then lol sorry, I don't know to much about 3rd gens

already covered
