I'm planning to rebuild the 5R55S transmission on my 2005 Ford Explorer XLT 4.0, but my issues are
1)Which torque converter is the right one the 4 bolt, 8 bolt, high stall, med stall, low stall and
2) should I even bother replacing it? Or just drain and fill a couple of times because I'm almost sure the torque converter is fine.
I ask the second question because I did a trans job on my 1998 olds Aurora and I was told just replace it since I have it apart. So I did and the replacement was a faulty torque converter so I had to pull the engine and trans again to replace it.
