rotten eggs under my hood?

ok i have a 2001 sport with 4.0 sohc, and everytime (almost everytime ) i push my x past 70 i get a rotten egg smell in my car, kind of like sulfuric acid found in batteries. anyone know what it could be?

Possibly from you catalytic converter? I know they can smell bad too, not sure of what would cause it though
 






Yeah, the cat. convertor is a good option. Apparently if the inside of the convertor breaks out, the beads in the convertor will start to melt and smell like sulfur. If you take it to any muffler shop were the guys actually know what htey are doing, they should be able to tell you if it is your cat that is stinking it up.

Another thing that crossed my mind was that there are mechanics that will swear that BG gas leaves a rotten egg smell in the engine that is noticable when taking the intake manifold apart.
 






How new is your truck? Don't the cats smell bad when new ones are just installed?
