Weird Rotten Egg Smell

Hi My name is Sam

I currently drive an 2001 Ford Explorer Sport 4x2.

I got a question to ask fellow explorer drivers.

When I accelerate faster on my explorer like when I go about 60 or 65 and higher my explorer puts out a nasty rotten egg smell into my car.

I dunno if I have something wrong with the engine or something wrong with the explorer itself so if there is anyone that knows what is wrong with my X please tell me what I can do to fix the problem.

Could be the cats.

I had the same kind of smell this past July when I went on a 2000 mi round trip road trip. I started to get it about 400 miles into the trip, and after that only after the car was on for 2 hours or more. My friend said it was the cats, I just forgot about it and haven't smelled it since then.

Sounds like cats to me also. When you smell them next pull over somewhere safe and take a peek under the truck to make sure that they are not glowing red. If they are a fire may be in your near future so up the insurance or get them fixed.
