I used to be a die hard (no pun intended) Craftsman tool fan, but since they're all made in China now, I've stopped buying them. The Chinese made ones are definitely a cut below the older Craftsman tools.

The Gearwrench brand has always been made in Taiwan/China by Danaher. The Craftsman ones still use the Gearwrench ratcheting mechanism, but since the main part of the wrench was made in the USA, they can brand it "Made in USA".

If you still want the USA-made Craftsman stuff, now is the time to buy. You can get the 50-60% off prices online, then pick up in store, and if you get a China-made set, exchange in the tool dept for one of the remaining USA sets while they last. There are quite a few Craftsman sets at 50% off, including the expensive and ratcheting Cross Force sets.
