Anyone ever try replacing the bottom leather seat cover on a vehicle. I had a bad incident with keys in a back pocket that put a slice in my seat. Tried gettig it repaired, not happy with the color match. I have the replacement cover, debating whether try switching myself or get a pro to do it.

I've done a couple seats. You need the right tools to do it. It's not a hard job, but it takes patience. I recently replaced the leather seat base in my Mach 1

The cover has a bunch of hook tabs on it. My worry is the weather is colder now so stretching it on and would I have to take the seat back off to get the bottom off easier

You really need to remove the seat from the vehicle and disassemble it to put a new cover on properly. You also need hog rings and hog ring pliers

Yes for sure also bring into a heated environment. To heat the leather.

Just pay and get it done right
