Spare tire Mount

I have a Surco safari rack for my 99XLS I just got my full size spare to put up there. They want 200 bucks for the spare tire mount. Rip off! Anybody made their own? What about a lock for it?

i dont have a Surco rack but i have one kind of like it and i just got a U-bolt that was long enough to go over at least two of the bars on the rack and up through the wheel. then i just put some spare lug nuts on top. Before you ask i dont have pics because i am away from my truck right now, those damn parents took it away
