TPMS on 4th Generation

I need one of you TPMS experts to help me out here.

I'm putting 20s on my 07ex for the summer. My 07 has the blue, strap on sensors with the bands, model number 6F2Z-1A189A. I can order a new set of sensors and bands from the dealer for about $400 bucks.

The parts guy at my dealer told me that the 2010's switched back to the valve stem type because the bands were letting go and wrecking rims and tires. The valve stem type on 2010s are less than half the price.
We looked at one and although the first 4 numbers in the part are different these sensors also end in 1A189A.

We even went so far to confirm that the valve type sensors operate at the same ohms as the strap on ones.

Has anyone successfully put 2010 sensors on a 2006 to 2009?
Does any one know if they will work before I spend the cash on them ?

I don't have an answer for 2010 sensors, but I had TMPS sensors put on my new set of wheels, and they were $32 each, installed. There were Shraeder-Bridgeport #28385, direct replacement for OE Part 6F2Z1A189A (http://www.schrader-bridgeport.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=35&Itemid=108). That's $128 for a set of 4, a far cry from $400... With the help of the TPMS Reset Tool, everything worked like a champ.

Ive seen the blue oem sensors and bands on e-bay for fairly cheap, also one note, im using oem sensors off a 06 mounty on my 06 explor and never had to reset anything.
