I replaced my thermostat housing a few years ago, after the original started to leak. About 6 months ago the replacement started to leak.
I didn't want to buy another plastic housing. I bought a metal/Aluminum replacement from EBay along with a new temp sender and thermostat (190F) from Napa.
The install is very straight forward. Remove the old and replace with the new. The hardest part was getting the temp sensor into the hole. It was such a tight fit. I had to use a plastic dead blow mallet to get it in.
